MoralHazards

The current affordability and debt crisis in America, is the result of intentional and unaccounted for, catastrophic economic moral hazards, of the wealthiest 20% of Americans in Collusion with the Federal and State governments, at strategic cross roads in American Economic History, over the last 70 years. The point here is that all of the economic moral hazards inflicted on America were 100% preventable if Americans were in love with creating and maintaining more perfect union for all Americans and not just the wealthiest 20% of Americans in America as America's highest priority.

An economic moral hazard occurs when a group or party intentionally takes on large or catastrophic risks that others have to pay for, if those large or catastrophic risk are realized or come true

Over the last 70 years, these Three intentional and unaccounted for, catastrophic economic moral hazards by the wealthiest 20% of Americans in collusion with Federal and State governments have caused and continue to cause the affordability and debt crisis that America is plagued with today, getting worse with the passage of time.

1. Oil Industry Peak Oil Production, 1950 - 1970, was an Intentional and Unaccounted for Catastrophic Economic Moral Hazard on the American people: The oil industry, Corporate America and the US government failed to protect America from Peak oil production forecasted to occur by 1970, initially discovered in the early 1950s, but the US government and the US oil industry did absolutely nothing to prepare America for peak oil production which actually did happen just as warned and forecasted by oil industry experts in 1950, causing the Great Inflation of the 1970s, which structurally destroyed the economic back bone of the US economy over a 13 year period, effectively making the US economy structurally uneconomic by the early 1980s. This catastrophe was completely avoidable, if the US oil industry and the US government would have acted over the 20 year period, 1950 - 1970, creating alternative supplies of energy coupled with demand side management programs, ready to be employed if US oil production actually peaked in 1970 and went into decline over the next 40 years. That is exactly what happened, but since, America decided that risk was not worth preparing for, when that risk was realized in 1970, America was caught Naked and unprepared for massively excessive and sustainable shortages of the most important energy source supplying its world largest and most wealthy economy. This was an intentional and unaccounted for catastrophic economic moral hazard, because the Energy industry and the US government were fully aware of these risks but decided not to prepare for mitigating these catastrophic risks to the US economy and America's best in the world way of life. Why? Who would likely stand to benefit the most if oil production actually peaked, and the US economy became structurally short of oil for the next 40 years, who would benefit most from that scenario. US Oil and gas companies of course. Can you guess which company in America was the most profitable company in America during the Great Inflation of the 1970s………Exxon Oil Company. The price of oil increased by 2,000% between 1970 and 1982. This is why it is so important that the diversity of the interest of all the American people are thoroughly and diversely represented in the government and in Corporate America, at the highest levels of decision making. The world's wealthiest, most powerful, most efficient and productive economy on the planet was destroyed by the great inflation of the 1970s, because the narrow, non-DEI decision making of America's energy industry and US government between 1950 - 1970 was being guided by white male conservatives in the energy industry, who knew that it was not in the best interest of the oil industry to prepare for peak oil between 1950 - 1970, because in the event that US oil production actually peaks in 1970 as forecasted by the industry experts, America would become hostage to the US oil industry, and being the great crony capitalist that the oil industry was, they would have the pure and unadulterated freedom to raise oil prices to astronomical levels, and then say, don't blame us, the invisible hand of free market business conditions changed in ways that we had no control over, we are just responding to market forces. But that is a big fat lie. This again is the perfect example of an intentional and unaccounted for catastrophic economic moral hazard that was known since 1950 but over the next 20 years, the US oil industry did nothing to mitigate this risk, because the US oil industry had an opportunity to make out like bandits on steroids, if US oil production actually peaked in 1970 and went into decline over the next 40 years, as it did. Again, Exxon oil company was the most profitable company in America during the great inflation of the 1970s. The Great Inflation of the 1970s was completely avoidable. Between 1950 and 1970, US oil industry and the Federal Government could have lead and developed a demand and supply response to the risk of peak oil production in America, over that 20 year period to actually mitigate the risk of Peak oil production in America by 1970, if it actually were to occur. Again, that risk was purposely ignored because of the opportunity for the wealthiest of the wealthy few, US oil market shareholders, to increase their wealth by the largest amount in human history, if oil production actually did peak in 1970, but what that also would mean is that the bottom 90% of Americans would suffer catastrophically, so that the oil barons could win at crazy miraculous levels. Again this was a known before hand, by the oil industry. A catastrophic economic moral hazard against the American people for the benefit of the very tiny but super wealthy few. The oil industry scientist and economist were telling oil executives in the early 1950s that the risk of US oil production peaking by 1970 was not a low probability scenarios, but rather a real and high probability risk, that all the science and mathematics indicated that it would most certainly happen. This is almost identical to what is happening with Climate Change today. We have 100% evidence that climate change has been and is taking place right now and is on course, over the next 20 years to have irreversible catastrophic effects on our economy and society, with economic damage approaching $7T a year, globally as the world approaches 2050. The oil industry and Corporate America are once again, like they did back between 1950 - 1970, ignoring the threat of oil production peaking in 1970, because if it did, oil production peaking as the experts had forecasted, the oil industry would be living in oil industry heaven for the next 40 years, which is exactly what happened. These exact same players are now telling us Climate change is a hoax or are not saying anything, which is just as bad, because the energy industry has some of the best scientist in the world, they know we have an opportunity to stop climate change before the worst effects of it start to make human life on this planet unlivable. But again, just like back in 1950 - 1970, the oil industry again, stand to make ungodly profits, if America and the world does not prepare for climate change……..again, the oil industry stands to make the most money if America and the world fail to plan for mitigating the catastrophic effects of climate change, just like they did 70 years ago, when the oil and energy industry, did not take the lead and help America mitigate the risk of oil production peaking in America.

2. In the early 1980s, US Government Failure to lead the hard and smart work required to repair and correct the economic market failures in the US economy caused by the great inflation of the 1970s, which broke the structural economic back bone of the US economy, making the US economy fundamentally uneconomic by the early 1980s, was an Intentional and Unaccounted for Catastrophic Economic Moral Hazard on the American people: The thirteen year sustained Great Inflation of the 1970s and early 1980s, destroyed the structural economic competitiveness of the US economy, over that period, leaving the US economy, broken and uneconomic at the beginning of the decade of the 1980s. America was once again at a strategic economic cross road in its recent economic history. What would America do? Surely America has learned her lessons from the previous 30 years, 1950 - 1980, and was now ready to do the right, economic and moral thing with the US economy, after suffering the catastrophic consequences of taking the easiest path of uneconomic least resistance over the previous 30 years, 1950 -1980, which was the direct cause of America's pitiful and uneconomic state in 1980. Unfortunately America had not learned its lesson. The wealthy and conservative few in corporate and America and on Wall Street, did not want to rally America around the view of learning the catastrophic lessons from our just previous 30 year past. Lessons learned from the previous 30 years would have been screaming and shouting out loudly and continuously that America should come together as a nation to structurally repair and fix the broken markets and failures in the US economy, so that over time, the US economy would heal and become organically economic, restoring America best in the world economic comparative advantages, creating value, wealth and prosperity for all Americans and not just the wealthiest 10% - 20% at the top. In 1981, President Ronald Reagan ushered in the Reagan Revolution and financial engineering for the US economy, promoted as the most efficient, most productive and best way for growing the US economy, with as limited government involvement as possible, deciding to improve the US economy, by simply growing America's high cost, broken and uneconomic economy, by allowing consumers and businesses to borrow at catastrophically massive levels, to both jump start the economy and keep it growing on a going forward basis. This new approach to growing the US economy, without fixing its underlying problems, did create great growth in the US economy, but the growth was uneconomic and extremely lopsided in favor of extreme wealth creation for the wealthiest 20% of Americans while bankrupting and destroying the buying power of the bottom 80%. The faster the US economy grew under these new massively liberal financial borrowing strategies and policies, the more economically broken the US economy was becoming. For the first time in American history, America was growing and sustaining massively higher trade deficits with other countries of the world and massively larger and sustained US government deficits required to finance US consumer and business deficit spending. Both the beauty and the catastrophic tragedy of financial engineering is its ability to diversify, disperse and distribute the massive debt all around the world, so that in effect, the massive debts funding the US Economy's massively uneconomic growth, were made to look like they posed no significant financial risk to the US or global economies, until they did. In 1980, the total amount of debt needed or required to run the US economy, both private and government debt as a percentage of growth in the US economy was 145%, by 2008, the amount of total government and private sector debt required to grow the US economy was 385%. The financialization of the US economy in the 1980's was a cop out and a financial existential gut punch to the American people. The Reagan Revolution of the 1980s effectively transformed the US Economy into a Financial Ponzi Scheme Ecosystem in America and around the world. The Crack Cocaine for this system was providing massive levels of borrowing to US consumers and small businesses, which true, allowed them to spend at record levels, but over time, it was bankrupting and destroying the buying power of Americans in the bottom 80%. While on the other hand, the wealthiest 20% of Americans were borrowing to bid up the value of their assets, creating instantaneous and massive value and wealth creation for the wealthiest 20% in America. The Financial Engineering's ability to effectively hide debt levels in the system, and to promote the massive wealth creation for the wealthy few, while ignoring the affordability and destruction of wealth creation for the bottom 80%, made the US Ponzi Scheme financial system look like America was a competitive, economic, conservative, and super successful free market economy that did not need government and had solved its massive, uneconomic, high cost, un-competitiveness problems of the 1970s and 1980s, Until 2007, the absolute massive and catastrophic levels of debt, required to keep the US and global economy running smoothly free of financial risk, had reached its limit, especially when the affordability levels of the bottom 80% became so severe that they could no longer borrow from Peter and Paul to keep up with the rapidly rising cost in the financial system, and income and wealth of the bottom 80% was constantly being destroyed by globalization, automation, the cost of living for the most important purchases like shelter, healthcare, education, transportation, insurance, childcare, retirement, etc, far exceeding their income growth from labor and jobs in the economy, between 1980 to 2007. The Global Credit Crisis and Great Recession of 2007 - 2009, was the great reckoning of the fact that the financialization of the US economy in the 1980s was not a great economic solution which saved and made the US and global economy, healthier, stronger and better. It was a con game using the Global Financial Ponzi Scheme Framework to massively transfer $50T in wealth from the bottom 80% of Americans to the Wealthiest 10% to 20% of Americans in America over that 25 year period, 1982 to 2007. Unbelievable!!! See what exploiters and liars in our economy and society can do to us, when we stay patriotically asleep and ignore the signals and warning signs, flashing brightly and in red if we would have just remained Woke and true to our values and aspirations which are clearly written in the constitution of the United States of America. And what are those values - that Americans fall in love with and willfully chose of their own volition to create and maintain a more perfect union for all Americans, not just the wealthiest 20%, as America's absolute highest priority, so that as Americans now and on a going forward basis have the love and power to prevent catastrophic economic moral hazards from continuing to destroy our economy and society, by choosing to create and sustain a more perfect union for all Americans, not just the wealthiest 20% as America's highest priority, both now and on a going forward basis.

3. America doubling down on the Financial Engineering Ponzi Scheme approach for running and growing the US economy after living through and suffering the consequences from the Global Credit Crisis and Great Recession of 2007 - 2009, is another Intentional and Unaccounted for Catastrophic Economic Moral Hazard on the American people: A massive injection of borrowing was absolutely required to prevent the US and global economy from initiating and sustaining a global run on the bank phenomena to stabilize the US and global financial system which effectively had a heart attack and stroke with the onset of the Global Credit Crisis and Great Recession. President Obama brought stability and trust back to US and Global markets by reasserting government base line protections, regulations and leadership, ensuring Americans and the world that the US government would begin taking a more proactive role in leading and managing the economy and society, with more of a democratic process involving the interests and perspectives of all the American people and not just the interests of the Wealthiest 20%. President Obama restored policies and initiated programs and supports to the economy and society that were working on the hard, smart fundamental needed to make the US economy, less dependent on borrowing and more dependent on stronger economic fundamentals, making the US economy work better for everyone. Regulations preventing financial system from recklessly exploiting the American public. Supporting energy independence and climate change solutions, which structurally and fundamentally make the US economy more economic and affordable for US consumers and more competitive trade with international trading partners. Lower and more affordable health care costs for American consumers. However, Wild, Wild West, massive wealth creation for the wealthiest 20% in America at the destruction and expense of everyone else in the US economy returned when president Trump came to office in 2017 and 2025 respectively. Creating $12T in tax cuts for the wealthiest 20% of Americans in America, presiding over the worst response to Covid-19 on the planet unecessarily causing more Americans to be killed by Covid-19 in two years, than all American Soldiers killed in all American wars since and including the Civil war as far back as the 1860s. Destroying America's health care insurance without replacing it with a better alternative, increasing the cost on working class American families by $3.9K per year or $5.4 Trillion over 10 years, to pay for trade import tariffs that he says are needed to make trade fair with trading partners which is a lie. America has trade deficits with many countries because our cost of living and cost of doing business domestically are too high and unaffordable for most Americans and are too high and uncompetitive with our international trading partners. Again our lying and exploitive president is collecting the massive import taxes on the backs of working class Americans to pay for the $12T tax breaks he has and is giving to the wealthiest 20% of Americans who don't have any need for those tax breaks. Finally and most catastrophically important is the con game that the president Trump and his supporters have and are inflicting on the bottom 80% of the American people over the past 18 months. It appears the president struck a deal with the oil, auto, tech and financial industries to get him elected and he is now using but more truly, abusing the full weight and power of the federal government to destroy regulations and destroy competitors of his favored industries as the payoff for getting him elected. It is evidently clear that the conservatives on the supreme court are a clear, full and active party to this abuse of power and moral corruptness in the US government now. When the supreme court ruled in 2024, that the US president is immune to prosecution for any actions that he or she takes as president, as long as he or she claims that in their mind, they thought that what they were doing was in the best interest of the people of the United States of America. The president of the US is the most powerful job in the world. Imagine what would happen, if a totally immoral crook were to somehow be elected as president of the United States, given the supreme court's recent ruling in 2024, which is that a president of the US cannot be prosecuted or held accountable for his/her actions as long as they say in their mind, they committed those actions for the benefits of the American people. We do not have to guess or postulate about what would happen. It appears that conservatives were planning for this as a part of project 2025, with both congress and the supreme court working together to break and push the limits of democracy to lock in the corrupt benefits and absolute control of the US economy for the wealthiest 10% to 20%, on a going forward basis by any means possible. Break it, the constitution, illegally if necessary and put in protections and force that will not allow it to be taken back by democracy, even though the rules of democracy would provide that option. America is effectively being transformed into RussiAmerica, with stock market at all time highs which yes is super for the wealthiest 10% - 20% in America, but affordability for the bottom 80% - 90%, is approaching the lowest levels in American history. We have alienated both our allies and our enemies, starting and maintaining unnecessary and catastrophically expensive wars, that are bankrupting our economy and making America vulnerable to our enemies as our vital military inventories have been recklessly and needlessly depleted unavailable for much stronger and much more fierce military competitors like Russia, China, etc.. But we have not discussed the most catastrophic economic moral hazard, which is Trump , Tech, Oil and Financial industries plan to destroy all clean energy, both domestically and abroad, so that America and the world would be totally dependent on the US and global oil industry to run the US and Global economy under super tight economic conditions, supporting massive wealth creation for the oil industry on a going forward basis. This relieves auto industry from having to build out electric vehicles, and removes electric vehicles from competing with Tech companies for electric power supplies, to supply massive data center build out. Finally and most importantly, Trump administration restricts and absolutely mandates that regulations on AI technology be banned at the national, state and local levels, to ensure that tens of Trillions of dollars in profits that will derive from AI will flow solely to the top three to five tech companies who control 90% of AI technology that must, must, must, must absolutely must be designed to permanently replace 30 to 50 million American workers, not over the next 30 years, but over the next 3 to 8 years, to achieve the high returns needed to support the trillions of dollars of spending that the wealthiest 20% are investing to achieve this goal. The wealthiest 0.1% of the US economy will be wealthy beyond their wildest dreams while the bottom 95% of America goes bankrupt and the US economy implodes on itself, trying to fulfill the financial lusts of the Wealthiest 0.1% of Americans in the US economy. This is the catastrophic economic moral hazard of all time, unfolding right before our wide opened but blinded eyes. Again, this too is preventable, but the nation and the world is on emergency alert, America the largest, wealthiest and most powerful economy on the planet has a fox in the hen house, and that fox, president Trump is at war with America, the Constitution and the American people. President Trump is right now tearing down America, coning the America people into believing he is trying to make America better, when in reality, he is corrupting and destroying America for the benefits of the wealthiest 1%, but his lust and ignorance blinds him to the fact that his and the republican party's Ponzi Scheme approach to growing the US financial system is doomed to failure for everyone and this will be America's destiny if we do not believe in and fight for our love for once another as is expressed in the constitution of the United States, that we willfully and lovingly, intentionally decide to create and sustain a more perfect union for all Americans, not just the wealthiest 20%, as America's absolute highest priority, both now and on a going forward basis.
